The changes are necessary in order to bring the Department’s policy in line with the snout welding policies of other water providers in the area, to requite snout adjustments in a increasingly efficient and resulting manner, and to reduce fraudulent snout welding claims. This new policy is pearly to all customers, particularly to those customers that never receive an welding and substantially subsidize those who do. 1) Strict trueness to a policy of one welding per year per customer. Exceptions will be given if the consumer moved to a variegated address. 2) The customer’s snout must be at least 3 times greater than their 12 month stereotype bill. The adjusted snout value is the difference between the upper snout and 3 times the monthly average. 3) The value refunded must be at least $10.00. 4) Customers must provide a repair receipt or a parts receipt to show the leak has been repaired. If the consumer does not submit proof of repair, no welding will be given. No exception will be given if proof was not provided. 5)Consumerservice representatives will no longer legitimatize leak adjustments. All leak adjustments will be reviewed and tried by the office manager.   HOW TO USE YOUR METER TO CHECK FOR LEAKS Be sure no water is on inside your dwelling. This includes toilets, ice makers, washing machines, etc. If no water is on, trammels your meter for any movement of the dial. When water is passing through the meter, the dial will move in a clockwise direction. If water is off and the dial moves, you have a leak. Please be mindful of your water consumption and do your part to help conserve water. Here are a few outdoor conservation tips for you to follow: Water your lawn only when necessary. It takes 660 gallons of water to supply 1,000 square feet of lawn with 1 inch of water. (This is scrutinizingly the same value as you use inside the house in an unshortened week.) Do not use the hose to wipe your driveway or sidewalk Ñ use a broom. Use a shut-off nozzle on your hose so that water flows only as needed. Do not leave sprinklers on hoses unattended. If you wash your car, park it on the grass and use a hose with an will-less shut-off nozzle.
