As a native of Madison County and having grown up on a sublet in the area, Mann realizes that a person’s property is important to them. Whether one owns a home, sublet or business, they want to be treated with respect, honesty and fairness in regard to issues involving their property. Mann’s goal is to run the Tax Assessor’s office as efficiently as possible while providing the level of consumer service the taxpayers expect. Now that all departments of the Tax Assessor’s office are together on the fifth floor of the courthouse, liaison and consistency in that service can be largest implemented.  New technology, by upgrading hardware and software, will enhance the efficiency of the office as well as permitting for increasingly current and well-judged data on the internet.  While it is still the responsibility of each property owner to ensure the tax data on any property that they own is current, the Tax Assessor’s office is here to squire in making any necessary corrections. After earning a Bachelor of Arts stratum inLiaisonfrom Auburn University, Mann earned a Master of Arts in Bible from Alabama Christian School of Religion.  He then served in the ministry for a number of years surpassing returning to Madison County to work in the real manor industry.  For the past twenty years, Mann has served the polity as a REALTOR. He served as the President of the HuntsvilleZoneAssociation of REALTORS in 2005 and was chosen as their REALTOR of The Year in 2007 as well as served as a State Director for the Alabama Association of REALTORS for a number of years. The wits of helping people buy, sell, and resolve property issues will be an windfall to the Tax Assessor’s office.  He has moreover served as a workbench member of Habitat for Humanity of Madison County, taught classes at Faulkner University, and was the 2013 President of the Huntsville-Madison County Auburn Club. Mann currently serves as a deacon and Bible matriculation teacher at the Mayfair Church of Christ and is a member of the Madison County and Alabama Cattlemen’s Association. Departments Appraisal Department This department is responsible for making an on-site review of subdivisions and other lands, to measure and list all improvements, and moreover summate values, based on guidelines and specifications mandated by the State Department of Revenue. Assessing Department Each taxpayer is required by Alabama Law (Code 40-7-1) to provide a well-constructed list of all property owned. The person acquiring property is responsible for reporting to the Tax Assessors well-constructed legal unravelment of the property. All assessments are based upon ownership and status as of October 1 of each year.Workbenchof Equalization If a property owner questions the value placed on his property, theWorkbenchof Equalization will meet with the property owner to review the value. TheWorkbenchsets a schedule based on written request of a property owner. This itemized list should include all stock-still resources used in the operation of the merchantry including but not limited to: furniture, fixtures, computers, printers, office equipment, tools, machinery, unlicensed motor vehicles, and vehicle add-on equipment. Tax Mapping Department This department is responsible for maintaining maps of property lines. Recently completed, digital maps are available, based on recorded subdivision plats and recorded deeds. It moreover maintains records of property ownership by subdivision lots or metes and premises legal descriptions. Old towage records and plat books are misogynist for research purposes.
